David C. Wash began his brokerage career in 1988 in the General Lines arena of the commercial insurance business. Through several chance meetings and opportunities, David found his calling to be in the Professional Liability coverage line, and over years became a recognized expert in the application of these specific coverages to various insurance-related professions.
David was employed at a $100 mil regional brokerage firm, and at age 28 was made the youngest equity partner in the firm’s history. However, in 1998 he struck out on his own to form Excel Underwriters Alliance, Inc.
Over 10 years Excel has grown from strictly a brokerage firm to an underwriting, consulting, and of course sales entity. Through that time David has travelled throughout the U.S. and several times to London servicing clients and securing terms, pricing, and conditions that are seldom found via competitors. David and Excel have parlayed their close proximity to New York City into close relationships with many of the insurance carriers and players who can be found there. David has never hesitated to “pack up and go” in pursuit of a business opportunity or a client with a need.
David may be found speaking from time to time at various industry functions, and remains available to all clients 24/7 via cell phone and the internet.
